William Craig Wright, affectionately known as “Craig,” age 70, of Hephzibah, Georgia, passed away peacefully on Friday, October 9, 2026, following a courageous, nearly three-year battle with metastatic pancreatic cancer.
Throughout his battle, Craig demonstrated remarkable strength, courage, and perseverance. Though his journey was not an easy one, his love and devotion to his family remained unwavering.
Craig was a devoted husband, loving father, cherished grandfather, and a thoughtful man whose kindness and love for others left a lasting impression on those fortunate enough to know him.
Of all the roles he held throughout his life, one of his greatest joys was being “Pop” to his beloved grandchildren. He treasured the time spent with them, whether playing chess or flying his drone with his grandsons, sharing laughter, or simply enjoying being together. The memories made with their Pop will forever hold a special place in their hearts.
Craig worked in the fire alarm business and retired from FLSA in late 2022. He had a passion for carpentry and enjoyed working with his hands as well. He also enjoyed playing golf, vacationing at the beach, and traveling to visit family. Whether working on a project or gathering with those he loved, Craig found joy in life’s simple pleasures.
Craig was preceded in death by his parents, Wilber and Eloise Wright.
Craig is survived by his loving wife, Jean Wright of Hephzibah, Georgia; his sons, Brandon Wright (Kaylea) of Statesboro, Georgia, and Jereme Wright (Leah) of Vestavia Hills, Alabama; his daughter, Kristen Oglesby (Michael) of Hephzibah, Georgia; his brothers, Gary Wright (Sue) of Bethlehem, Georgia, and Tony Wright (Mary) of Springdale, Arkansas; and his nine grandchildren, Sam, Connor, Emma, Dempsey, Holden, Ivey, Mark, Ella, and William. He is also survived by several extended family members.
Though Craig’s earthly journey has come to an end, his legacy will continue through the family he loved so dearly, the lessons he shared, and the countless memories that will be treasured for generations to come.
The family will receive friends for visitation on Friday, October 16, 2026, at 2:00 p.m., followed by a Celebration of Life Service at 3:00 p.m. in the chapel of Thomas Poteet & Son, with Robert Taylor officiating.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the American Cancer Society in order to further the research of pancreatic cancer.
