Walter Harvard Boone

Augusta, Ga – Entered into rest on July 14, 2012, Mr. Walter Harvard “Harvey” Boone with his loving family at his bedside. Family members include his daughters: Diane Brown, Denise Miskelly, Donna Kennedy; sons: the late Ronnie D Boone, Harvey E Boone, Leonard J Boone; a special daughter-in-law: Lillian Boone; 14 grandchildren and 20 great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, July 17, 2012 at 11:00 a.m in the chapel of Thomas Poteet and Son with Rev. Hank Miskelly officiating. Burial will be at Langley Cemetery. Pallbearers will be his grandsons; honorary pallbearers will be Ernest Cato, Red Goodwin.

Mr. Boone was a native and lifelong resident of Aiken County. He was “one of a kind” and a legend in the valley. He enlisted in the U.S. Marines and was a veteran of World War II. He began a career as an ironworker for Daniels Construction that lasted 50 years. He was known as having a keen sense of humor and was very loyal to his friends. He loved the outdoors and especially enjoyed fishing. The family will receive friends Monday evening from 6 to 8 at Thomas Poteet and Son Funeral Directors, 214 Davis Rd. Augusta, Ga. 30907
