Augusta, GA –LTC Thomas Leonard Hoyle, (US Army RET) age 84, loving husband of 49 years to Kathy Hoyle entered into rest on Thursday, 21 January 2021

Tom was a devoted husband, loving father and grandfather. He was a native of Boston, MA and graduated from Northeastern University. He lived his life as he held his values; God first, Family, then Country. He retired from the US Army, Signal Corps, after 28 years. A combat veteran, Bronze Star recipient, he served two tours in Vietnam. After retirement, he went to work at Branum’s/Augusta Sewing Center. Tom was also an active member of St. Teresa of Avila Catholic Church.

In addition to his wife, Kathy, he is survived by his children (and their spouses) Philip Hoyle (Jenny), David Hoyle, Stephen Hoyle (Rosanna) and Laura Shepherd (Matt), his grandchildren Isabella, Jackson, Kathryn, Lindsey, Matthew, Amanda, Connor, Drew, Marissa (Gabriel), Chyann, Jade, Thomas, George, Clara Louise, his great grandchild Camille, as well as his sister, Janet Keating (Ernie).

In lieu of flowers, the family requests a memorial donation to Cure SMA 925 Busse Rd, Elk Grove Village, IL 60007 or Cystic Fibrosis Foundation, 4550 Montgomery Ave. Suite 1100 N Bethesda, MD 20814.

A memorial Mass will be held at a later date at St. Teresa.
