Augusta, GA – Todd Arthur Schultz was born into a military family on March 20, 1957 at Camp Drew in Japan. He was the oldest son and the second of six children to Arthur H. and Barbara Schultz.
He embarked on his Georgia odyssey when he enrolled at Georgia Tech where he split his time as a co-op student with the CIA in Washington, DC and on the Atlanta campus. While there, he met his wife, Carrie Lee Kinlaw, and graduated with highest honors in 1979.
A two year stint at American Management Systems was followed by graduate degrees at Johns Hopkins, MESC (1983) and PhD (1987) and a move back to Georgia when Todd was recruited by Augusta College, as it was then known. The family, which eventually included three adopted daughters, bought and restored an historic home near the campus and split their time between Augusta and a family home in Waycross.
Todd’s long career at what is now Augusta University was as varied and evolving as the institution. He retired as professor and director of Computer & Information Sciences in the Hull College of Business and he returned as professor emeritus to teach at the Georgia Cyber Center. In addition to his academic career, he worked with American Management Systems, Ernst & Young Management Consulting Services and served on the advisory board of Microsoft Dynamics Academic Alliance.
He made a point of always being available to help students in and out of the classroom and his friends and neighbors at any time with various computer questions and problems.
Always interested in growing and making good food, good brew and cultivating new mixology experiences, the couple were known for their generosity with home-grown bounty and their vivacious porch parties.
Todd’s love and friendship will be cherished by his wife, family, friends, neighbors, students and colleagues as he leaves behind memories of his intelligence, wit, and tenacious attitude.
A gathering of family and friends will be held on November 21, 2026 at 4:00 p.m. at the family home. If desired, in lieu of flowers or food, a donation to the CSRA Humane Society, P.O. Box 204120, Augusta, Georgia 30917 in Todd’s memory is appreciated.
