Steven Philip Dewees, MD

Martinez, GA – Entered into rest on Monday, July 20, 2026, Steven Philip Dewees, 81, loving husband of Elizabeth Dewees.

Dr. Steven Dewees began his medical career through his service as a captain in the United States Airforce. From there he served countless individuals in his over 50 years of medical practice. Steve had a wonderful mind and brought joy and care to so many. He will be greatly missed but we take heart that he is now at peace with the Great Physician, his Heavenly Father.

In addition to his wife, family members include his children: Jonathan Dewees, Christopher Wilson (Catie), and Jason Wilson (Tally); and grandchildren: Haddie and Hannah; siblings: Debbie, Becky, Johanna, and Tom.

The funeral service will be held Sunday, July 26, 2026 at 2:00 p.m. at the chapel of Thomas Poteet & Son with Pastor Brandon Henson officiating. Interment will be private.

Memorial contributions may be made to Samaritan’s Purse.
