Augusta, GA – Entered into rest on Thursday, July 6, 2023, Stephen Dale Crutchfield, 58.
Stephen was a loving and devoted father, son and brother; a protector of all with a caring generous spirit. He was known affectionately as “Crutch” by his friends and colleagues and “Papacrunch” by his grandsons. Stephen had an excellent, fun sense of humor and was a loyal Georgia Bulldog fan. He enjoyed an active social life, frequenting many local establishments. Crutch will be missed by all who knew him.
Family members include his son: Jerod Gay (Meagan); daughter: Jana Stewart (Bret); grandsons: Colton Stewart and Wade Stewart; mother: Kathryne “Big O” Crutchfield; siblings: Scott Crutchfield (Johanna) and Sheila Crutchfield Sims; nieces and nephews: Amanda Sims, D.J. Sims, Nevaeh Sims, Aja Sims, Liam Crutchfield, Kelsey Crutchfield and Sophia Crutchfield; Uncle: Col. Robert Brown (Ret) (Sandy) and many other loving family members and close friends. He was preceded in death by his father Robert Crutchfield.
A memorial service will be held Saturday, July 15, 2023 at 10:00 A.M. at The Sanctuary with Rev. Bryan Cockrell officiating.
