Augusta, GA – Entered into rest on Wednesday, July 15, 2026, Robert Garard Johnson, 75, loving father of his son, Taylor Johnson (Nicole).
Robert Johnson passed away leaving behind a legacy of service, hard work, and unwavering love for his family. He proudly served in the United States Marine Corps during the Vietnam War before beginning a long and dedicated career with General Electric, where he retired.
In retirement, Robert enjoyed following the stock market and spending time day trading.
Robert had a remarkable talent for fixing things, especially anything mechanical or computer-related, and was always willing to lend a helping hand to anyone in need.
Robert found joy in solving problems and making life a little easier for the people he loved.
He also cherished spending time with family and friends, especially sharing meals together, telling stories, and enjoying plenty of laughter. Those moments together were among the things he treasured most.
Above all, Robert was a devoted father and a proud grandfather. Known lovingly as "Papa" by his grandson, he will be remembered for his strength, generosity, and steadfast love for his family. His memory will live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved him, and he will be deeply missed.
In addition to his son, his family members include his grandson: Luke Johnson; fiancée: Lorraine Barlett; brother: James Johnson (Linda); lifelong friend and mother of Taylor: Debbie Johnson; stepson: Kelly Pedigo; and other loving family members.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Carvie Lee Johnson and Germaine Klefia Reel, and his brother, John Johnson.
