Richard Francis Hashinger

North Augusta, SC – Entered into rest on Saturday, July 18, 2026, Mr. Richard Francis Hashinger, 91, loving husband of Delora Hashinger.

Richard was a native of Morgantown, WV and was the son of the late William and Urilla Hashinger. He served in the United States Army Reserves and retired from Savannah River Site as a chemical engineer. He loved outdoor sports and was an avid golfer. He graduated from West Virginia University.

His many hobbies include traveling whenever he got the chance. He toured western Europe with one of his favorites being Scotland. He traveled all across the US and enjoyed the simple things in life such as homemade peach ice cream. He worked and served as an Augusta National Scorer. Life would come to a standstill first full week of April until the Masters tournament was over.

He was the son of a Lutheran Pastor and served a lifetime in the Lutheran Church. He enjoyed singing in the choir and playing various musical instruments.

Family members, in addition to his wife, include his son: Richard Hashinger Jr; daughter: Amy Hashinger.

The funeral service will be held August 22, 2026, at 12:00 at the Lutheran Church of the Resurrection with Pastor David Hunter officiating.
