She completed her MS at University California San Francisco in 1972 and then moved to Augusta Georgia and started applying her skills and passion for nursing at the Medical College of Georgia (MCG) as an Instructor in the Department of Adult Nursing. Patty’s teaching skills and expertise earned her promotion to Assistant Professor in 1974. In 1975 Patty was promoted to Chairman of MCG’s Department of Adult Nursing. Patty continued to learn and grow professionally and completed her Doctor of Nursing Science (DSN) and Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) at the University of Alabama, Birmingham in 1985.
