Emblem

Michael Eric Fowler, Sr. passed in peace July 27, 2026, at the age of 80. He was a loving and caring husband of 56 years to Sandra Fowler.

Mike was born and raised in Augusta. He was a 1965 graduate of Butler High School. He was a proud American having served 4 years in the U.S. Air Force during the Vietnam War. He majored in business while attending Augusta College and Florida State University.

Mike had a long and successful career in the wholesale alcoholic beverage Industry. He started his career in sales at General Wholesale and quickly rose to Manager, then General Manager. The majority of his career was spent with National Distributing Company where he retired as Vice President and Managing Director.

Mike appreciated his life, never taking anything for granted. He was Sandra’s childhood next door neighbor and sweet-heart and a devoted dad who taught life’s lessons, coached baseball and football, and immensely enjoyed fatherhood. A proud “Pop” who adored and spoiled his two precious grandsons.

Mike was outgoing, witty and a friend to all. He had the best one-liners. He enjoyed tailgating in Athens, boating, fishing and golf. In the early years he was a Charter Member of the Suburban Bassmasters and once held the title of Mr. Clarks Hill. He was competitive in his golf game. His poker buddies were his most special friends.

Mike’s greatest joy was his family: wife Sandra, son Mike Fowler, Jr. and his wife Stacy, and grandsons Trip Fowler and Cash Fowler. He is also survived by his sisters Becki Wood and Triss Mills, sister-in-law Janice Smith, and nieces India Hawk, LeeAnne Jones, Ava Usry and June Jones. He was preceded in death by his parents Milt and Mertice Fowler, and brothers Wayne Fowler and Bo Fowler.

We are blessed to have loved and been loved by this good and wonderful man.
