Mary Secord

Evans, GA – Entered into rest on Sunday, August 2, 2026, Mrs. Mary Neesmith Secord, 88, loving wife of 60 years to the late Monroe Gray Secord, Sr.

Mary was a native of Waynesboro, GA and retired from Doctors Hospital ER. She was a loyal Georgia Bulldog fan who loved trips to the mountains with her husband to watch the leaves change. She was a member of Abilene Baptist Church and enjoyed going to gospel concerts. Most of all, she was a loving and devoted mom and Nana.

Family members include her children: Mary Jo Secord Sessum, Monty Secord and his wife Teresa, and Mark Secord; grandchildren: Autumn, Ricky, Halie Jo, Allie, Hanna, Asa; and great-grandchildren: Kennedy, Pierce, Georgia Lynne, and Vince.

The funeral service will be held Friday, August 7, 2026 at 3:00 P.M. in the chapel of Thomas Poteet & Son with Rev. Bill Harrell officiating. Interment will follow in the Abilene Baptist Church Cemetery.
