Mary Hunt Murray

Augusta, Georgia — Mrs. Mary Hunt Murray, 81, beloved wife of Mr. Larry Jefferson Murray, Sr., entered peacefully into the presence of the Lord on Saturday, July 18, 2026.

A memorial service will be held Friday, July 24, 2026 at 2:00 P.M. at Church of the Good Shepherd with The Rev. Dr. Bunny Simon Williams officiating.

Mary Hunt grew up in Thomson, GA, graduating from Thomson High School. In 1967 Mary Hunt won the Miss McDuffie County beauty pageant. She graduated from Augusta College and began a career in teaching in Augusta when she met the love of her life, Larry. The two married in March of 1970.

While Mary Hunt enjoyed many blessings throughout her life, none brought her greater joy than her family. She was a loving and devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, whose life was defined by quiet strength, steadfast faithfulness, and sacrificial love. Her greatest legacy is the family she nurtured, encouraged, and loved so deeply.

Mary Hunt was preceded in death by her parents, Edwin and Annie Bradshaw, and her brothers, Edwin "Winde" Bradshaw, and Rev. James “Jim” Bradshaw.

She is survived by her devoted husband of fifty-six years, Larry Jefferson Murray, Sr., her five children: Nolia (Brian) Smith, L. Jefferson Murray Jr. (Keri), Annie B. (Philip) Williams, Hollis (Amber) Murray, and Mamon (Marc) Raber, her sixteen cherished grandchildren: Mary Ford (Matthew) Entriken, Evan Smith, Mark Smith, Sarah Murray, Mary Hunt Murray, L. Jefferson Murray III, ClaraJane Williams, Brinkley Williams, Franklin Williams, Lucy Williams, Iris Williams, Nell Williams, Cynthia Murray, Hollyn Murray, Nolia Raber, and Mary Hollis Raber, and her four beloved great-grandchildren: Rip Entriken, Baylor Entriken, Bodie Entriken, and Palmer Entriken. She is also survived by her brother, Delmar Brinkley “Brink” Bradshaw.
