Graniteville, SC – Entered into rest on Wednesday, July 15, 2026, Mary Beth Elliott, 72, loving wife of Peter Elliott.

Mary Beth was a gymnast while attending college at Southern Connecticut State University graduating with a teaching degree. She worked as a physical education teacher in Hamden, CT before earning a Master’s in Nursing degree to become an RN at Saint Raphael’s Hospital in New Haven, CT. Later moving to Georgia to be closer to her sisters and continuing her nursing career at MCG Hospital in Augusta, GA working as an Adult Vascular Access team member. She retired from nursing in 2020 to begin enjoying the rest of her life focusing on family, faith, grandchildren and camping with her husband and close friends. Mary Beth’s favorite activities were tennis, crafting, being at the beach, especially North Myrtle Beach and an occasional sip of Moscato, cheese pizza or a cheeseburger.

In addition to her husband, family members include her children: Stacy Elizabeth Van Tassel (Jason), Amanda Jean Stevens (Matthew), Charles Joseph Howard (Erin), and Kevin Scott Elliott (Eric); grandchildren: Mason Van Tassel, Elliott Van Tassel, Cody Van Tassel, Laine Van Tassel, Sabine Stevens, and Easton Howard; siblings: Carol Clark (Tom), Joseph Huber (Casey), Thomas Huber (Sheri), Jean Anello (Fred), and John Huber; and several nieces and nephews.

Mary Beth was preceded in death by her parents Charles and Margaret Huber, Jr., and her brother Charles “Chuckie” Huber.

The Memorial Mass will be held Monday, July 20, 2026, at 11:00 a.m. at St. Teresa of Avila Catholic Church with Fr. Tim McKeown celebrant. Interment will follow in the St. Teresa of Avila Columbarium.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Ribbons of Hope Cancer Support Group, C/O St. Teresa of Avila Catholic Church, 4921 Columbia Road, Grovetown, GA, 30813.

There will be a Rosary at 4:00 p.m. in the chapel of Thomas Poteet & Son, and the family will receive friends on Sunday, July 19, 2026 following the Rosary until 6:00 p.m. at Thomas Poteet & Son Funeral Directors, 214 Davis Rd., Augusta, GA 30907 (706) 364-8484.
