Evans, GA – Entered into rest on Thursday, October 15, 2026, Lana Kervin Prescott, 57, loving wife of Lee Prescott.
Lana was a loving and devoted wife, mother, and grandmother, affectionately known as “Lala.” A graduate of Hephzibah High School, she attended Augusta College and retired from the Columbia County Board of Education after 18 years of service. In that time, Lana was a paraprofessional, beloved technology teacher, and administrative assistant. Throughout her career, Lana taught and led with compassion, making a lasting impact on her students and colleagues. She was the embodiment of servitude, volunteering her time for her neighborhood swim team, serving as a member of Evans Middle School’s Parent-Teacher Organization, and volunteering regularly for the Evans Knights Football Booster Club. Lana was an extraordinary baker, known for her pies and cakes, an avid reader, and a fan of all things science fiction. She was a devoted mother who loved binging Gilmore Girls with her daughter and traveling across the country to watch her son play football. Above all, Lana treasured her family and the memories they created together. She will be deeply missed and forever loved by all who knew her.
In addition to her husband, family members include her children: Benjamin Prescott (Amberlee) and Mackenzie Prescott (Eric); grandson: Christopher Lee Prescott; parents: Bill and Okcha Kervin; brothers: Paul Kervin (Wendy), Jeff Kervin (Allison), and Mike Kervin (Ruth); father and mother-in-law: Harold and Gwen Prescott; sister-in-law: Renee Savage (Joe); and other loving family members.
The Celebration of Life will be held Sunday, October 18, 2026, at 3:00 p.m. in the chapel at Thomas Poteet & Son Funeral Directors with Dr. Don Prosser officiating.
To honor Lana’s passion for STEM education, memorial contributions may be made to Girls Who Code in lieu of flowers.
The family will receive friends on Sunday, October 18, 2026 from 2:00 p.m. until 3:00 p.m. at Thomas Poteet & Son Funeral Directors, 214 Davis Rd., Augusta, GA 30907 (706) 364-8484. Please sign the guestbook at www.thomaspoteet.com
