Krystal Lynne Samuel

Augusta, GA – Krystal Lynne Samuel, 45, entered into rest on Monday, August 10, 2026.

Krystal was a woman of strong character who lived with purpose and conviction. She was witty, strong-willed, and fiercely devoted to her family. She was direct, honest, and true to herself, with a presence that could not be overlooked.

For more than 15 years, Krystal devoted herself to Richmond County Schools, first as an English teacher, as International Baccalaureate Coordinator, and most recently as an Instructional Specialist. She earned a Master of Education from the University of Georgia and undergraduate degrees in Music and Psychology from Augusta State University. She also served as a member on multiple educational committees. Her dedication to education was recognized with the STAR Teacher award in 2023 and Teacher of the Year nominations in 2014 and 2023.

At school, Krystal became affectionately known as “PrimeTime Samuel”, a name that captured her winning mentality and determination to see those around her succeed. This influence extended beyond the classroom with Krystal serving as the Cheerleading Coach and as a Flag Football Coach. She challenged people because she believed they were capable of more and took pride in seeing them succeed.

Her faith was central to her life. Krystal served at Journey Community Church through children's ministry and worship services, finding another way to give her time and gifts to others. Krystal's impact extended to Haiti, where she immersed herself in the culture for one year learning the language and teaching students of various ages.

Krystal was a tea connoisseur who also loved baking cookies, experiencing different culinary cuisines, and traveling with her family.

Her greatest legacy lives with us: the students she taught, the young people she coached, the colleagues she encouraged, and the friends and family she loved so deeply.

Krystal leaves to cherish her memory her loving mother, Lynette Samuel; devoted sisters, Kyla Mallette (Alvin) and Jade Samuel; niece, Jasmine; nephew, Andrew; and a host of aunts, uncles, cousins, friends, colleagues, and students.

She is preceded in death by her beloved father, Stuart David Samuel.

A celebration of Krystal’s life will be held on Friday, August 21, 2026 at 4:30 pm at Journey Community Church with Pastor Bobby Smith officiating. A private interment was held at Westover Memorial Park.
