In Loving Memory of Kathleen Ann Mazotas

January 3, 1947 – July 29, 2026

Kathleen, affectionately known as Kathie by those who knew her, passed away in the presence of her husband Paul, daughter Amy, son Michael, and daughter Diane. Kathie knew that despite wherever her loved ones were she was fully and deeply loved by them. She touched so many lives and those who were fortunate enough to know her were truly blessed. To know Kathie was to understand her kindness, generosity, and her creativity. She exemplified unwavering devotion to her loved ones, her love for animals, her kindness to strangers, and by her unfailing faith, love, and devotion to God.

Kathie’s greatest joy was her family. She was a devoted mother to nine children, a beloved grandmother to sixteen grandchildren, and a cherished great-grandmother to twelve great-grandchildren. For more than three decades she was affectionately known as “Maga”; a title she carried with immense pride and love. Her heart, her home, and her arms were always open to an ever-expanding family, and she never missed an opportunity to make each person feel special.

For 35 years, Kathie shared a marriage with Paul built on commitment, compromise, faith, friendship, companionship, and love.

Kathie possessed an extraordinarily creative gift to make sure each person was truly “seen”. With some expert guidance from her beloved Grandma, she taught herself how to sew and so much more, by designing beautiful wedding gowns, homecoming and prom dresses, doll clothes, and many other treasured keepsakes for family and friends. Her creativity extended far beyond designing patterns and sewing. She also enjoyed crocheting, quilting, and designing the most creative paper crafts that reflected not only her skill but captured the individual spirit of those she loved. She considered every detail and tailor made each piece to reflect the personality and preference to each person for whom she crafted something for.

Kathie also expressed her creativity by cooking. She enjoyed the challenge of preparing meals by studying international dishes and made an honest effort to embody other cultural foods, even if she thought she “failed”. She never stopped trying. She embraced many cultures and loved learning about them. She has also made many family recipes – many of which we consider holiday staples – and continued the traditions from previous generations, which we are certain will continue to grace the tables of our generations to come.

Kathie was a natural introvert but challenged herself to try experiences out of her comfort zone, such as becoming a black belt in Kyokushin Karate, skydiving, and traveling to nearly every continent in the world. She truly embraced the people, culture, beauty, and whatever experiences she had throughout her travels.

Of all Kathie’s accomplishments, those who knew her best will remember something even greater…an honest and true sentiment; “She was one of the kindest people you could ever hope to meet”. Her warmth, encouragement, and gentle presence have most certainly made a lasting impact on everyone who was fortunate enough to know her. Kathie’s legacy lives on through her children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, extended family, and her dearest friends. Though her absence leaves an immeasurable void, her love will remain woven into the lives of those who truly knew her. Her love, laughter, and unwavering kindness will continue to guide and inspire us all. Her traditions will forever remain embedded in our hearts.

Kathie leaves behind a remarkable legacy through her family. She is preceded in death by her beloved Grandma, Sylvia M. Smith, her “Daddy”, William E. Bullard, her mother Ruth V. Bullard, her sister Karen Brown, and her son Joseph E. Foreman. She is survived by her loving husband of 35 years, Paul L. Mazotas, her children Robert M. Foreman (Donna), Diane Poole (Curtis), Amy E. Harriss, Elizabeth A. Carrion (Oscar), Michael J. Foreman (Elisa), and her stepchildren Jolie L. Williams (Matt), and Jahn-Paul Mazotas, along with her grandchildren, great-grandchildren, her nephew Monte, and nieces Chloe Callahan (Karsten), and Emily Chapin (Justin).

She will be deeply missed, forever loved, and never forgotten. Her life was a blessing, and our memories a treasure to hold close to our hearts. We were blessed with 79 years of her life with us.
