Evans, GA - Entered into rest on Sunday, October 18, 2026. Mr. Joseph S. Rose, 41, loving husband of Elizabeth Rose.
A native and lifelong residence of Augusta, Joe graduated from Alleluia Community School before proudly serving in the US Navy. Following his time in the Navy, he attended and graduated from The Citadel. He worked as a Shift Supervisor for Southern Nuclear at Plant Vogtle.
In addition to his wife, family members include Joe’s children, Cael Michael Rose, Heidi Anneliese Rose, and Colleen Alanna Rose; stepchildren, Hendrick and Oliver Chitty; father, Wayne Rose; in-laws, Jimmy Lawson and Linda Lawson; and siblings, Thomas Rose (Kathleen), Matthew Rose, Gina Clement (Brian), Andrew Rose (Amy), Mary Campbell (Zachary), John Rose (Michelle), Theresa Marsh (Cory), Nathaniel Rose, Monica Klebba (Graham), and Katherine Rose; as well as many beloved nieces and nephews. Joe is preceded in death by his mother, Margaret Mary “Peggy” Rose.
To the world, he was Joe, but to us, he was Dad, and that meant everything. Our dad gave us a childhood full of adventures, from exploring the mountains and chasing waterfalls to spending long days at the beach, riding waves and burying each other in the sand. We loved his mystery rides, when he’d give us clues but never tell us where we were going, and our trips to see the “cloud makers” where Daddy worked. He taught us how to cheer on the Dawgs, took us to soccer games, coached us, taught us to golf, and made Saturday morning pancakes something we could always count on. He was the smartest person we knew, and whether he was helping us with math, teaching us something new, or pushing us to try harder, he always believed we were capable of more than we knew. He played guitar for us when we were babies, made sure we grew up knowing great music, and took us to concerts as we got older. We’ll never forget the little things, like the pink “It’s a Girl” bracelet he wore for years after Heidi was born, or the way his laughter could fill the house. We have so many memories with our dad, but it’s hard knowing how many more we were supposed to make. We wish he could be there for our graduations, to see who we become, to celebrate our accomplishments, and to be part of all the things we haven’t even experienced yet. There will be so many days when we’ll want to call him, ask him a question, tell him something exciting, or just hear his voice one more time. We wish we had more adventures, more Saturday mornings, and more ordinary days together. As we grow up, we’ll keep learning, exploring, and trying to make him proud, just like he always encouraged us to do. No matter how old we get, there will always be a part of us wishing our dad was still here to share it all with us. We love you, Dad. We’ve got it from here, even though we wish you were still here. I love you to the moon and back. We won’t tell who your favorite was. Love you more. Cael, Heidi, and Colleen.
