Augusta, GA – Entered into rest Tuesday, February 13, 2018, Mr. James Allen Hughes, 70, loving husband to Colette Hughes.
Mr. Hughes served five years in the U.S. Army and was a Vietnam Veteran. After serving his country and completing his business degree, he enjoyed a successful career with GTE.
Family members, in addition to his wife include son: Benjamin Hughes and wife Jamie of Columbus, OH; daughter: Alexis Phillips of Indianapolis, IN; grandchildren: Allen Phillips, Bear Phillips, Emily Ruth Piper; great grandchildren: Elleanor Piper and Elaina Piper; brothers: Donald Shannon, Thomas Shannon, Steven Hughes, and sister: Mary Sparks. He was preceded in death by his granddaughter: Ivy Sue Haines.
The family will receive friends Friday, February 16, 2018 from 11:00 A.M. until 1:00 P.M. at Thomas Poteet & Son. Private services will be held at a later date.
In lieu of flowers the family requests donations be made to the National Kidney Foundation, Georgia Chapter, 270 Peachtree Street NW, Suite 1040, Atlanta, GA 30303-1247.
