Jacqueline "Jackie" Yvonne Storey

Augusta, GA – Entered into rest on Wednesday, November 4, 2026, Jacqueline Yvonne Storey, 84, wife of Walter Daniel Storey as well as a beloved mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. Jackie was a woman of deep faith who loved Christ and strived to walk in his footsteps each day. Her life was a reflection of His love, kindness, compassion, generosity and grace. She trusted in His promises and lived with the hope of one day being welcomed into His loving arms.

Born in Knoxville, Tennessee, she lived a life rooted in love, family, hard work, and devotion to those she held dear. In addition to raising a family she retired after a very successful career with the United States federal civil service at the Eisenhower Army Medical Center at Fort Gordon, GA.

While she took pride in her career, her greatest joy was her family. She treasured the time spent with her loved ones and leaves behind a legacy that will continue through the generations. She will be remembered for the love she shared, the memories she created, and the special place she held in the hearts of those who knew her. Though she will be deeply missed, the love she gave and the memories she leaves behind will forever be treasured.

She is survived by her loving husband; her daughters, Susan Smith (Raymond) and Lisa Rhodes (Kelvin); her grandchildren, Melissa Smith, Rebecca Smith, Hanna Harris (Chandler), Evan Watson (Jaclyn), Haley Aylett (Kris), and Avery Rhodes; her brother, Larry Wayne Coggins (Debbie); and her beloved great-grandchildren, who brought her continued joy and happiness.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Robert and Esther Simpson; and her brothers, Terry Coggins and Robert Simpson.

The family invites everyone to a celebration of life on Saturday, November 7, 2026, at Fleming Baptist Church, 3027 Peach Orchard Road, Augusta, Georgia 30906, with Rev. Adam Hammonds officiating. Visitation will begin at 10:00 a.m., with the service to follow at 11:00 a.m. Interment will be at Hillcrest Memorial Park, 2700 Deans Bridge Road, Augusta, Georgia 30906.

If desired memorial contributions may be made to The Michael J. Fox Foundation for Parkinson’s Research (P.O. Box 5014 Hagerstown, MD 21741).

The family wishes to express their deepest appreciation to the dedicated caregivers, Betty Martin, Connie Royals, Francis Hughes, Amber Judkins, and Tremaine Bonner who provided the in-home support with such dignity, kindness, and love.

Though her earthly journey has ended, her love will live on in the hearts of her family and all who were blessed to know her. She will be lovingly remembered and forever missed.
