Jacqueline Wombles Brown

Appling, GA – Entered into rest on Tuesday, September 1, 2026, Mrs. Jacqueline Wombles Brown, 88, loving wife of the late George “Ollie” Arlen Brown. Jackie was born in Stillmore, Georgia to James Luther and Lois Wilson Wombles.

A retired clerk of the U.S. Postal Service, Jackie called Augusta home for 86 years. A graduate of Academy of Richmond County, she loved watching Wheel of Fortune, Jeopardy, cheering on the Georgia Bulldogs and never met a crossword puzzle she couldn’t tackle.

Family members include her children: Kimberly Robinson (Tommy), Rene Suggs (Dale), Keith Brown (Dani), and Kevin Brown (Mary); grandchildren: Stephanie Robinson, Jason Robinson (Nina), Jaime Putnam (Eli), Sean Suggs Walker (Alan), Kailyn Brown, Ramsey Kilpatrick (Drew), Blake Moore (Travis), and Nina Cevalez; great-grandchildren, Brianna Parello, Gavin Parello, Holley Parello, Jason Robinson, Jr., Josiah Robinson, Oliver Putnam, Lainey Putnam, Cooper Moore, Sheppard Kilpatrick, and Beau Kilpatrick.

She was also preceded in death by her grandson: Michael Robinson, daughter in law: Karen Brown, four sisters: Bessie May Pritchard, Johnnie Smith-Graham, Betty Jackson, and Debbie Wombles, and brother, Junior Wombles.

The funeral service will be held Friday, September 4, 2026 at 1:00 p.m. in the chapel of Thomas Poteet & Son with Daniel Reese officiating. Burial will follow at Hillcrest Memorial Park.
