Grace Ellen Parker, born on October 19, 1939, in Davenport, Iowa, passed away on August 3,2026, in Evans, Georgia after a brief illness.
Grace is survived by her three children: Judith Sargent and her husband, Elmer, of Texas; Jim Parker of Kentucky; and Lisa Clair and her partner, Domenic Romanello, of Georgia. She was a proud grandmother to five grandchildren and eleven great-grandchildren. She is also survived by her sisters, Joyce Henningsen of DeWitt, Iowa, and Betty Tinsley of Brandon, Mississippi, along with their families.
Grace was preceded in death by her parents, Edwin and Vesta Siem; her brothers, Raymond, Charles, Arthur, and Paul; her sister, Mildred; and her former husband, Jim Parker.
Grace lived in San Antonio, Texas, for 25 years before relocating to Georgia. While in Texas, she and her sister, Betty, owned and operated concession stands in several bingo halls. Later, Grace found her true calling as a personal caregiver, dedicating herself to the care of several families over the years, including one of her brothers. She had a generous and compassionate spirit, and nothing brought her greater joy than helping others.
In 2018, Grace moved to Evans, Georgia, to be closer to her youngest daughter, Lisa, with whom she eventually made her home.
Traveling and spending time with family and friends were among Grace’s greatest joys. Her favorite adventures included two cruises, as well as trips to Alaska, Iowa, Myrtle Beach, and Washington, D.C. Her love of travel and new experiences never diminished with age.
Grace also enjoyed creating Diamond Art projects, many of which she generously donated to St. Mary on the Hill Catholic Church. Her creativity, kindness, and giving heart touched many lives and will be remembered by all who knew and loved her.
In lieu of flowers, please make a donation to your favorite charity in memory of her generous spirit.
