Augusta, GA – George Hull Inman Sr., 94, entered into Heaven on Friday, September 4, 2026. He was the loving husband of seventy-six years to Nina Barrett Inman and, above all else, a devoted family man. Known affectionately by his grandchildren as "Dala,” he loved the Lord, his family, and those around him deeply. He exemplified all the qualities of a true servant leader.

George was a fifth-generation Augusta native. He attended William Robinson from grade school until seventh grade. After attending ninth grade at the Academy of Richmond County, he went to McCallie School, a boarding school for boys in Chattanooga, Tennessee. A few months after graduating from McCallie in 1950, he married his childhood sweetheart, Nina. He then served his country in the U.S. Army during the Korean War, where he taught radio communications. Following his military service, he and his young family moved to Atlanta, where he attended Georgia Tech and graduated in three years with a Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering.

After graduating in 1958, George returned home to Augusta and built his career in the golf car industry. Following seventeen years with E-Z-GO, he set out on a new venture with Club Car in 1978, where he became President and CEO before retiring in 1997. He also served as President of the National Golf Car Manufacturers Association and later served on the board of First Bank.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by his sons, George H. Inman, Jr. (Sally), Gould Barrett Inman, John Walter Inman (Julie), and Stephen Sibley Inman (Ashlee); his daughter, Nina Inman McCallie (Alex); his grandchildren, Ashley Inman, Nina Hayden, Sibley McCallie, George Inman III, Elizabeth Inman, Anders McCallie, and Grace Inman; his step-grandchildren, Hammond Cawley, Caroline Cawley, and Ava-Claire Cawley; and his great-grandchildren, Gideon Inman, Crew Inman, and Nina Hayden.

The funeral service will be held Thursday, September 10, 2026, at 11:00 a.m. at First Presbyterian Church, with Rev. John Franks and George’s son-in-law, Alex McCallie, officiating. A brief gathering will follow the service to speak with family. Burial will be private. Pallbearers will be members of the family.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Inman Scholarship Fund at Westminster Schools of Augusta, 3067 Wheeler Road, Augusta, GA 30909.
