Emily Shea Beck

Emily Shea Beck, affectionately known as “Nae Nae” by her nieces and nephews, was born August 25, 1960, and entered peacefully into rest on September 7, 2026 in Augusta, Georgia. Emily graduated from Westside High School in 1978 and earned her nursing degree from Augusta Technical College. After leaving Medical College of Georgia as a neonatal intensive care nurse, she began working as a private home health nurse. After many years of caring for several families, Emily began caring for her grandmother and later, her mother. Emily also attended school for Electrolysis and Laser Hair Removal. After graduating, she worked at Aiken Dermatology for many years. Emily possessed an innate talent for nurturing and caregiving. She selflessly cared for anyone in need. Emily loved music, concerts, cooking, bubble baths, and coffee, but most of all, she completely adored her beloved dog, Mr. Buddy Beck (aka Buck).

She is survived by her siblings: James G. Beck III (Angie), John L. Beck (Patricia), Joice B.McCurry (Dan); Nieces and Nephews: Sadie Blue Beck, Georgia Kelly Beck (Barry), Ira Claybourne, Jack Lawrence Beck (Anna Mae), Alton Daniel McCurry, Abigail Beck McCurry, Aurelia Grace Beck, Audrey Jaymes McCurry; Great niece and nephews: Magnolia Moon, Theodore Lawrence Beck, Otis Rhodes Beck; and many cousins.

Emily is preceded in death by her mother and father, Joyce and James Beck and her sister, Nancey Arlene Stillwell.

The family would like to thank the compassionate and caring doctors, nurses, and staff at Piedmont ICU for taking care of Emily during this difficult time. Also, her lifelong friends Kathy and Laura for their continued love and support of Emily.
