Edythe Marie Gaine

Edythe Marie Gaine entered eternal rest on October 3, 2026, in Augusta, Georgia.

Edythe was born on February 12, 1949, in Queens, New York, to Francis McFadden and Edythe McMahon.

She is survived by her beloved husband of 55 years, John Gaine, of Augusta, Georgia; her son Michael Gaine and his wife, Kathleen, of St. James, New York, and their sons, Liam and Sean; her son Jim Gaine and his wife, Erin, of Evans, Georgia, and their daughters, Elle and Mary Cait; and her five sisters: Judith, Frances, April, Candice, and Teresa.

Edythe was truly the life of every party. She had a vibrant personality and a presence that could fill a room. She loved being surrounded by family and friends and brought an unmistakable energy wherever she went.

A Funeral Mass celebrating Edythe’s life will be held at 11:00 a.m. on November 6th at Saint Mary on the Hill Catholic Church in Augusta, Georgia. The family will receive guests in the narthex beginning at 10:15 a.m.

In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests donations be made to St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital.
