Augusta, GA – Entered into rest Thursday, January 31, 2019, Mr. Eddie “Sammy” Samuel Evans, 69, loving husband of 45 years to Sheryl Sandifer Evans.

Sammy was a renowned businessman, corporate attorney, an avid sports fan, devoted husband and loving father. Mr. Evans was well respected and loved by all who knew him. He was a member of the Georgia Bar Association, Word of Life Church, and had a long history of volunteerism in the community with emphasis on coaching the youth in sports.

Family members, in addition to his wife, include his daughter: Jennifer Evans; son: Tripp Evans; brothers: Jim Evans (Mary) and Bobby Evans (Janice); sister: Frances Ware (Norris); and brother-in-law: Alden Roberson. He is preceded in death by his son, Eddie “Sam” Samuel Evans, and sister, Juanita Roberson.

The funeral service will be Tuesday, February 5, 2019 at 2:00 P.M. in the chapel of Thomas Poteet & Son with Pastor Sonny Jones officiating. Burial will follow in Westover Memorial Park.
