Dr. Eric David Macomson

Dr. Eric David Macomson entered into rest on Saturday, September 12, 2026, at his residence. Eric was the beloved son of Patsy Macomson and a loving brother to Brian and Dion Macomson.

A native of Carnesville, Georgia, Eric earned his undergraduate degree from the University of Georgia and later received his Doctor of Pharmacy degree also from UGA. He devoted his professional life to caring for others through his work as a pharmacist with Wellstar Hospital in Augusta.

While Eric took great pride in his profession, it was the simple pleasures of life that revealed so much of who he was. He loved dogs, especially pugs, enjoyed sushi and long walks, and found happiness working in his yard. Gifted with a green thumb, Eric enjoyed tending to his herbs and flowers and watching them flourish. He was also a devoted Georgia Bulldogs football fan and enjoyed cheering on his beloved Dawgs.

Those who lived near Eric will especially remember the enthusiasm and creativity he brought to Halloween and Christmas decorations. His decorations became a familiar neighborhood tradition and were one of the many ways his personality and sense of fun touched the lives of those around him.

Eric will be remembered not only for his accomplishments, but for the individual he was: a devoted son, a loving brother, a caring healthcare professional, and a man who found joy in the things and people he loved. His absence leaves a deep sadness in the hearts of his family and all who knew him, but the memories he created and the love he shared will remain with them always.

A private family memorial service was held.
