Dot Armstrong

Augusta, GA – Entered into rest on Wednesday, July 1, 2026, Miss Dorothy “Dot” Williams Armstrong.

Dot was a native and lifelong resident of Augusta. She was born in 1930 to John Francis and Dorothy Williams Armstrong. She was A 1951 graduate of Mt. St. Joseph Academy; Dot continued her education and received her Bachelor of Science in Nursing as well as a Master of Science in Nursing (MSN) with clinical specialties tailored to rehabilitation from Emory University. She taught at Crawford Long Hospital in Atlanta, GA and later worked at St. Joseph Hospital in Augusta, GA. She ended her career after 25 years of nursing with the Veterans Administration.

In addition to her parents, Dot was preceded in death by her siblings: Mr. John Luke Armstrong, Mrs. Frances A. Gwin (Johnny), Mrs. Mary A. Maxwell (Tom), and Mrs. Martha A. Howerdd (Gene). She is survived by a host of loving nieces and nephews.

The funeral Mass will be held Tuesday, July 7, 2026 at 11:00 a.m. at St. Mary on the Hill Catholic Church. Interment will follow in Westover Memorial Park. There will be a Rosary at 10:30 a.m. at the church prior to the funeral Mass.
