Augusta, GA – Entered into rest on Wednesday, July 15, 2026, Mr. David Brian Waters, 75, loving husband of 40 years to Belinda Waters.
Dave was born in Elmira, NY to Joe and Jean Waters. His siblings include Dan, Linda (deceased), Rick, and Eddie. He was in the US Marine Corps from 1971 until 1973 as a radio operator for an artillery battalion. He was a registered nurse and was in the Army Nurse Corps from 1993 until 2007. He retired as Regional Director of Choice Behavioral Health. He was a member of St. Mary on the Hill Catholic Church, the American Legion Post 205, and the Irish American Heritage Society. He enjoyed volunteering for the IAHS for the St. Patrick’s Day parade and cooking at Arts in the Heart.
In addition to his wife, family members include his sons: Joel Waters (Deborah), Jared Waters (Margie), and Benjamin Waters (Mary-Beth); daughter: Brianna Klinke (Nolan); grandchildren: Rhys Waters, Aven Waters, Harper Jean Waters, Strider Waters, Winry Waters, Kai Klinke, Lily Hall, and Edwin Hall.
Dave had many hobbies including grilling on his RecTeq, fishing, watching movies, bread making, and spending time with family and friends. He loved to grill while shirtless and enjoyed a cold drink. He was an avid lover of movies and books including The Lord of the Rings and The Hobbit. He enjoyed fishing with his children and grandchildren. Dave was always competitive, winning every match of corn hole, ladder ball, and bocce ball he played. He loved to play, teach others the games, and then defeat them. He would go everywhere Belinda wanted to go and enjoyed traveling, wine tasting, and socializing, but also didn’t mind a little alone time in his office with a cup of coffee and his computer. His newest hobby was playing trivia at the American Legion where he could exhibit his wealth of knowledge. His family was his true passion and he was always just a phone call away.
A funeral Mass will be celebrated on Friday, July 24, 2026 at 11:00 AM at St Mary on the Hill Catholic Church. The family will receive friends 1 hour prior to the service in the Narthex.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to Minkahz NETs Mission in support of neuroendocrine cancer patients and their caregivers.
