Mickey died on July 4th, 2026 at The Claiborne at West Lake assisted living facility. She was 92 years old.
Charlotte Lee Vaughn was born in Rome, Georgia on September 6, 1933 to Roy Lee Vaughn and Ira Mae Potts Vaughn. After graduating from Americus High School in 1952, she became a Registered Nurse after attending and earning her degree from Georgia Baptist Hospital School of Nursing in 1955. She married Bobby Price of Americus in 1956. Upon Bobby’s graduation from Georgia Tech in 1961, Bobby and Mickey moved to Augusta, with three children by that time.
While Bobby was providing for the family as a self-employed registered engineer and land surveyor, Mickey raised the family, which eventually grew to five children with the birth of twins when Mickey was 40 years old.
In their early years in Augusta, Bobby and Mickey were faithful members of Hill Baptist Church. Later they started attending First Baptist Church.
Bobby and Mickey raised five children, four of which graduated from Georgia Tech and one who graduated from the University of Georgia. Mickey is survived by four of their children including sons: Wayne Price and wife Paula, of Jefferson, Ga, Kevin Price of Atlanta, Ga; daughters: Shari Kersey and her husband David of Fletcher, NC, Kristie Rox, of Marietta, Ga; grandchildren Mark Price, Amanda Price, Andrew Kersey, Samantha Rox and Claire Rox; six great grandchildren, and a brother, Randolph Vaughn. Mickey was preceded in death by her son Derrick “Ricky” Price, her mother and father, her sister Janet Searcy, and her husband of 50 years, Bobby.
The family will receive friends Friday, July 17, 2026 from 1:00 PM until 2:00 PM at Thomas Poteet & Son Funeral Directors, 214 Davis Rd, Augusta, GA 30907, 706-364-8484. The Funeral Service will follow at 2:00 PM in the Chapel with Reverend Joel Mundy officiating.
Interment services will be held on Saturday, July 18, 2026, 1:00 PM at Rehoboth Baptist Church Cemetery, Americus, Ga.
The family has requested memorial donations in lieu of flowers be made to the CSRA Parkinson Support Group, P.O. Box 31, Evans, GA 30809, Logan Banks, Treasurer.
