Charlotte Kitchen Bryngelson

Charlotte Kitchen Bryngelson entered into eternal rest Tuesday Sept 1, 2026. She was the loving mother of 5, grandmother of 17, great grandmother of 47 and great great grandmother of 13, with another 3 on the way.

Born in Atlanta Ga on October 30, 1922 Charlotte moved with her family to Augusta, GA. in 1924, where she spent most of her life. She attended Tubman High School and Orlando High School in Orlando, Fla.

She was formally married to the late James C Bryngelson, Sr. in 1941. Charlotte is survived by her 3 daughters Kathy Staton, Harriet Scarborough, Sally Barnes and her beloved daughter in law, Marggie Bryngelson. Her son, Carl Bryngelson and youngest daughter, Becky Schmacker preceded her in death last year.

She worked in Augusta at Cullums Dept Store and Life of Virginia Ins, Co. and earlier at the family-owned dry cleaning business. Family, church and volunteer work were her main interests. Her volunteer work included her church, Lakemont Presbyterian, where she had been a member for 74 years, the Sr. Center at St. Joseph Hospital, the Rose Society, and the Food Bank. She was also a past member of the Garden Arts Club. However, her main interests were her church, Family and Flowers.

Typical of her kind and generous heart, she donated her body to The Medical College of Ga. Our mother lived her life with faith, purpose, love and total commitment to those she loved and to her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.

A memorial service will be held at Lakemont on Wed, Sept. 9th @ 11:00 a.m. Visitation will follow the service. Conducting the service will be the Revs. Brad Staton and Wes James, 2 of her beloved grandsons. Flowers should be delivered to the church by 9:00 a.m. WED, Sept. 9th.
