Augusta, GA – Entered into rest on Thursday, May 27, 2021, Mrs. Betty Jean Shirey, 85, loving wife of the late J.B. Shirey.
Betty was a lifelong resident of Augusta and attended Faith Baptist Church. She retired as a psychiatric nursing assistant at Talmadge Hospital.
Family members include her daughters: Felicia Marcum (Frank) and Glenda Sue Pittman; sons: William Vernon Shirey and Brett Eugene Shirey, Sr. (April); 10 grandchildren and 15 great grandchildren; sister: Barbara Creed; and brother: McArthur James.
The family would like to thank Betty’s granddaughter, Lacey Sue McGahee, for all the love and care she provided to her grandmother.
A memorial service will be held on Thursday, June 3, 2021 at 2:00 PM at Faith Baptist Church in Blythe, GA.
