Benjamin "Benny" Hampton Creech, Jr.

Martinez, GA – Entered into rest on Wednesday, August 26, 2026, Benjamin Hampton “Benny” Creech, Jr., 84, loving husband of Laverne Creech.

Mr. Creech was a loving and devoted husband, father, and Papa who will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him. He proudly served in the United States Navy aboard the USS Franklin D. Roosevelt. Mr. Creech worked at King Mill as a shop manager for more than 40 years and later served as a bus driver for the Columbia County School System for 17 years. A dedicated Civil War reenactor, Mr. Creech was an active member of the Brig E. Porter Alexander Camp 158. He had a deep love of history, service, and fellowship. Above all, he treasured his family. His love, dedication, and the memories he created with those around him will be cherished forever.

In addition to his wife, family members include his sons: Jimmy Creech (Bobbie), Chris Creech, Charlie Creech (Abby), and Ricky Creech (Tracy); son in law: Gary Foss; grandchildren: Crystal (Phillip), Lexie, Madison, Madison, and Iris; and greatgrandchildren: Bennett, Brantley, Grayson, and Emma,

He is preceded in death by his parents: Benjamin Hampton Creech, Sr. and Katie Watts Creech; daughter: Sandy Creech Foss; brother: Lloyd Creech and wife of 49 years: Belinda Creech.

The funeral service will be held Tuesday, September 1, 2026 at 2:00 P.M. at Southern Pines Baptist Church with Pastor Michael Cope and Pastor Jonathan Curtis officiating. Interment will follow at Westover Memorial Park. The family will receive one hour prior to the service at the church.
