Anthony Lawrence Thompson

Augusta, GA – Entered into rest on Sunday, September 6, 2026, Anthony Lawrence Thompson, 55, loving son of James and Donna Thompson.

Anthony graduated from Evans High School in 1989 and attended Augusta State College and Augusta Technical College. He was the Packaging Lead at Greenwood/Syensqo Augusta where he worked the last 20 years. He attended Warren Baptist Church. He loved traveling, especially to the mountains where he enjoyed hiking. Anthony was a kind and gentle soul. His final selfless act of organ donation has saved several lives. He was an amazing son, brother, uncle and friend and a blessing to all who knew him.

Family members include his brother James David Thompson, sister-in-law, Kristin Preetorius Thompson and niece Charlene Peggy Thompson.

The memorial service will be held Monday, September 14, 2026 at 2:00 p.m. at Thomas Poteet & Son Funeral Directors with Dr. Don Prosser officiating.

Memorial contributions may be made to St. Jude Hospital or The Tunnel to Towers Foundation.
